ZEN Marks 2025 HSE Week with Fire Safety Outreach at Future Leaders School

As part of its 2025 Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week celebrations, ZEN Petroleum Limited organised a Fire Safety Outreach at Future Leaders School (FLS) on 9 December 2025, in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). The outreach formed part of ZEN’s ongoing commitment to promoting safety awareness and community education beyond the workplace.

The session was designed to educate pupils and staff on basic fire prevention practices, emergency response, and personal safety, with a strong focus on age-appropriate learning. Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service led interactive demonstrations, explaining common causes of fire outbreaks, safe evacuation procedures, and the importance of remaining calm and alert during emergencies.

Students were actively engaged through practical demonstrations, questions and answers, and real-life examples that helped simplify fire safety concepts. The GNFS team also demonstrated the correct use of fire extinguishers, reinforcing the message that early awareness and preparedness can help prevent fire-related incidents and injuries.

Speaking on the outreach, the Chairman of the 2025 HSE Committee, Mr. Frank Kofi Mensah, reiterated that safety education is most impactful when introduced early, as it helps instill lifelong habits of caution, responsibility, and awareness. “By extending our HSE Week activities to Future Leaders School, ZEN aimed to contribute to building a safety-conscious generation that understands the importance of protecting lives and property,” he added.

The Fire Safety Outreach aligns with ZEN Petroleum’s broader HSE agenda, which emphasises leadership, prevention, and community engagement. Through partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Ghana National Fire Service, ZEN continues to support initiatives that strengthen safety culture both within its operations and in the communities it serves.

ZEN Petroleum remains committed to promoting health, safety, and environmental awareness at all levels, reinforcing the belief that safety is a shared responsibility.
