ZEN Petroleum Limited has been officially recognised with the Corporate Excellence Award at the maiden edition of the National Safety Awards (NSA) 2025, held on 11 July 2025 at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Headquarters in Accra.

ZEN Petroleum Limited has been officially recognised with the Corporate Excellence Award at the maiden edition of the National Safety Awards (NSA) 2025, held on 11 July 2025 at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Headquarters in Accra.

ZEN’s selection was based on rigorous criteria set by the GNFS Safety Directorate, including safety performance, innovation in safety practices, leadership in promoting a safety-first culture, and measurable impact on workplace and community safety standards. This prestigious recognition affirms ZEN’s unwavering commitment to safety excellence and its contribution to advancing a national safety culture in Ghana.

Leading the ZEN delegation was Chief Operating Officer Nana Akua Ayivor, who accepted the award in the presence of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka. The Minister delivered the keynote address, underscoring the importance of embedding safety consciousness in all facets of Ghanaian life.

Organised by TD-TIMAWT in collaboration with GNFS, the National Safety Awards represent a nationwide movement to champion safety as a shared responsibility. Since its launch in June 2024, NSA has worked to reshape how Ghanaians perceive and practice safety, from homes and schools to factories, roads, and corporate spaces.

This year’s ceremony brought together over 300 safety-focused leaders, professionals, organisations, and community stakeholders from across the country. Highlights of the event included:

  • The official launch of Ghana’s National Safety Culture Blueprint
  • An opening address by the Chief Fire Officer
  • Recognition of safety champions in more than 30 award categories
  • Networking and knowledge-sharing across sectors

ZEN’s Safety Milestones

The Corporate Excellence Award adds to ZEN Petroleum’s growing list of recognitions and achievements, including:

  • Life Saving Rules (LSR): In January 2025, ZEN rolled out 12 Life Saving Rules to reinforce a culture of accountability and empower employees to make safe choices across all levels.
  • Global Recognition: For three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024), ZEN has been named among Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies by Financial Times and Statista – the only Ghanaian company to achieve this.
