ZEN is managed in Ghana and West Africa by experienced professionals from a variety of disciplines, and all with significant experience in the oil and gas industries.
Joined ZEN in 2018 and has over 25 years’ banking and financial experience. Worked for UBS where he headed Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) desk for UBS Investment Bank as well as managing an emerging markets-focused proprietary portfolio between 1993 and 2007, including running the top ranked Institutional Investor emerging markets business for five out of the last six years from 2001 to 2007.
Started ZEN in 2010. A UK trained Management Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in banking in London, Europe and Asia including posts at UBS, Schroeders, Merrill Lynch among others. Responsible for business development and day to day management of ZEN.
Joined ZEN in 2011. Trained in the UK as a Chartered Accountant with almost 20 years experience working with a major firm of accountants in various roles covering audit, corporate finance and tax planning. Responsible for the financial management of ZEN and various aspects of its day to day management.
Thelma Tawiah is a lawyer and a business executive with over a decade’s experience in professional service firm management spanning operations, strategy, business development, compliance and risk management. She has also advised several companies across various sectors on general corporate law, capital markets, tax, corporate governance and compliance. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Ghana office of a Pan-African corporate law firm.
The stable and cohesive management team continually attracts industry experts as the ZEN story develops and the company continues to expand.
Joined ZEN in 2015. Previously Reliability Engineer at African Barrick in Tanzania, with additional over 10 years’ experience as operations manager and technical engineer at various Mines including; Tarkwa, Nzema, Ahafo, Iduapriem, Damang, Bogoso, Chirano and Akyem. Responsible for all site operations for ZEN.
Health Safety & Environmental Manager
Joined ZEN 2015. Previously over 10 years experience as an HSE manager at Newmont Mines. Responsible for all HSE issues at ZEN sites in Ghana and HSE issues for the fuel transportation companies including J.K. Horgle & Co. Ltd.
Joined ZEN in 2016. 10+ years experience in commercial sales and management from Shell and Vivo Energy (Shell Licensee) in the Oil & Gas Downstream industry, and Universal Merchant Bank in the Finance Industry. Responsible for supporting commercial business growth and customer relationship management.
Nana Kwabena Yeboah
Joined ZEN November 2017. Chartered MCIPD, UK; 15+ years professional management and leadership of HR and project teams in Africa, Europe, APAC, North America and the Middle East. Previous experience with Shell, MRS Group, Olam and Petrofac working out of Ghana, Nigeria and the UAE. Responsible for delivering on the full range of Group HR strategy and operations.
Joined ZEN in June 2012 and is responsible for all aspects of fuel retail operations with 10 years of experience in the downstream oil marketing industry. Previously with Oanda Ghana, in charge of the Operations & Engineering. Holds a degree in civil engineering from KNUST, and graduate studies in the field of oil and gas management from the Coventry University. Credentialed project management professional from the Project Management Institute.
Country Manager, Burkina Faso
Joined ZEN in 2018, after senior roles at Cim Ciment in Ghana, and Ivory Coast. University degrees in Banking and Economics from New York and Ouagadougou, with previous financial roles at Goldman Sachs (USA) and the International School of Ouagadougou. Further international roles included supporting the World Food Program. Responsible for managing and developing the business of ZEN Burkina.
Joined ZEN in 2011. Previously Mining Sales and Operations Manager at Shell Ghana (5 years) and Business Development Manager Puma Energy based in South Africa. Responsible for Business Development Activity for ZEN including customer contracting and development of new business at the mine sites, setting up of new operations and promotion of the Lubes business.

Joined ZEN in 2016. 15+ years Corporate Finance and Financial Management experience in Zurich, London and Amsterdam. Since 2013 specialised in international cross border financing and investment between Europe and Africa, including PPP projects in Ghana working with institutional, private and public institutions.
